Athletic Bilbao and Galatasaray celebrated identical victories in the 3rd round of the Champions League. At "San Mames" Qarabag "fell", with a reversal - 3:1, while at "Rams Park" Galatasaray won against Bodo/Glimt.
Qarabag took the lead in the first minute through Leandro Andrade. Gurban Gurbanov's team played brilliantly, with a lot of confidence after two victories in the European elite.
However, the home team outsmarted the defense set too high with three passes, and the final shot was the work of Gorka Guruseta for 1:1, in the 40th minute.
Marko Janković, who had recovered from injury, entered the game in the 56th minute. However, the home team was more specific and Robert Navarro scored from the penalty spot into the top right corner for the lead.
After a missed chance by Qarabag, Kaschuk beat Unai Simon but one of the defenders on the goal line blocked the ball and Guruseta was the best on the counterattack and from 17 meters he hit the bottom left corner in an undefended way for Bilbao's first triumph this Champions League season.
Galatasaray recorded their second triumph, after defeating Liverpool on the Bosphorus, the Norwegian champion was also defeated.
Victor Osimhen scored in the 3rd and 33rd minutes, and Akgun in the 60th minute.
The only goal for the visitors was scored by Halmersen in the 75th minute. This was Bodo/Glimt's first defeat, after two draws.
