Rain dictated the pace in the MeridianBet First Montenegrin Football League, and the matches between Dečić and Buducnost in Tuzi, and Arsenal and Petrovac in Tivat, were postponed due to heavy rainfall and poor pitches. Both matches will be played on Wednesday.
Only three matches of the 13th round were played today - Sutjeska defeated Jezero in Nikšić (1:0), Mornar continued with fantastic performances and defeated Mladost Lob.Bet in Podgorica (3:1), while the match between Jedinstvo France and Bokelj SBBet in Bijelo Polje produced neither winners nor goals (0:0).
DAMJANOVIĆ DECIDED THE MATCH IN NIKŠIĆ
Sutjeska defeated Jezero kraj Bistrica (1:0), recording their third consecutive win in all competitions and getting revenge on the team from Plav for their defeat in the first round of the championship. Bojan Damjanović scored the decisive goal in the 47th minute.
This was also the third triumph of the team from Nikšić with the new coach, Dejan Jelenić, who succeeded Milija Savović on the bench.
The first half was very lackluster for Bistrica, and the best chance came from Medo Juković, who shot in the 16th minute, but Jezera goalkeeper Igor Asanović reacted well and saved the goal. Mamadou Kamara then had a good chance, but he reacted desperately.
At the start of the second half - a goal. Sutjeska got a break, Marko Šimun crossed, Radoš Dedić headed the ball, Asanović saved, and the ball reached Damjanović who scored the goal.
After that, Jezero had a good chance, but Hiroki Harada hit the post, while Dedić missed the chance for Sutjeska - after a shot by the "blue" defender, the ball was cleared off the goal line by Jezero players.
THE BARANS DON'T STOP
And Mornar has been playing phenomenally since Vesko Stešević arrived. Barani defeated Mladost at the "DG Arena" (3:1) and recorded their fourth consecutive victory in the league, and their fifth including the Cup. This was the eighth match in which Barani was undefeated in the domestic championship, and their last defeat was against Jedinstvo on August 30th.
Mornar took the lead in the 28th minute when Stefan Denković took advantage of Balša Sekulić's assist and lobbed Ognjen Milović. Seven minutes later, Sekulić recorded another assist, and this time the goal was scored by Jovan Dašić.
In the 39th minute, Mladost's Argentinean Rodrigo Emilio Faust started sharply, fouled Andrija Kaluđerović, and received a yellow card. Then Jovan Baošić approached the Argentinean, who was hit by Faust, and Baošić hit him back. Then both players received a red card, after which there was a scuffle in the stands, but everything soon calmed down.
At the beginning of the second half, Sekulić had a good chance to score, but he didn't take it. However, he was more precise in the 74th minute when he checked Milović and crowned a great game.
The final score was set by Anđelko Jovanović from the penalty spot in the 89th minute. It was the first goal that Mornar had conceded after three rounds in the First League.
There were no goals in the match between Jedinstvo France and Bokelj SBBet (0:0), so the team from Bijelo Polje still has four points more than the team from Kotor, who are in last place in the table.
