Zlatko Dalić has taken Croatia to its fifth major competition in as many attempts since he became coach.
The "Fiery Ones" secured their place in the World Cup on Friday, and tonight they celebrated it in Podgorica with a 3:2 victory over Montenegro.
"Falcons" led 2:0 after 17 minutes with goals from Osmajić and Krstović, but later missed chances...
"I congratulate my team on the best qualifiers in the history of Croatian football, but also Montenegro on a great match, on a great opening where they put pressure on us, came out aggressive and combative. We made two mistakes and conceded two goals," Dalić told TVCG.
The Croats reduced the lead by half-time, and in the last 20 minutes achieved a triumph.
"In the end, we won the game due to more strength, energy and quality, but the match was really very good, the audience was able to enjoy it. We saved ourselves at the end and I have to congratulate both of them," Dalić pointed out.
He praised the way Montenegro plays:
"Montenegro has both a "head and a tail", Mirko Vučinić has put it together well and I wish it luck in the future," Dalić said clearly.
