The pioneering football team of Montenegro opened its appearance at the UEFA Development Tournament in Moldova with a triumph over Azerbaijan (1:0).
Andrej Pejović brought the victory to the "Falcons" with a beautiful goal in the 61st minute. But the triumph could have been more convincing. However, Đorđije Peruničić and Simon Kalezić were not precise on several occasions.
"We played a very good game. We were better than Azerbaijan in every segment, we played disciplined, responsible, aggressive, had possession, play and a few more chances for a second goal. I am happy with this victory because of the players' self-confidence, it is important for them to understand that when they put in maximum effort and effort, it will come back in the right way. But, there is not much time to rest, we are already playing the next match in the tournament on Thursday," coach Vladan Savić pointed out for the Federation's website.
Montenegro's next rival is Moldova, the match with the tournament host will be played on November 20th at 12 noon local time.
