Almost 1.500 people voted in the large "Vijesti" poll yesterday - We are choosing the ideal team in the 100-year history of Buducnost.
We embarked on a challenging campaign, which started seven days ago, mostly because the century of the largest Montenegrin football club was celebrated by football players, players of European caliber, masters who were among the best in Europe, two of whom even decided the Champions League final, aces who played in world and European championships.
Buducnost, as one of the brands of the former Yugoslavia, a strong league, may not be able to boast of trophies, but it can boast of legends.
That's why the ideal team, which was chosen, and which will be chosen in the coming weeks by readers, fans, but also former aces of the Podgorica club, is definitely worthy: it will have a European level, nothing less and nothing more.
FIRST, UNOFFICIAL RESULTS
After the votes of 1.425 readers of "Vijesti" (until last night at 20 pm), the ideal 11 have already been determined. Of course, this is not the final result - there is a big fight in some positions, and the votes of club legends will follow, which will be worth three times as much.
We are, however, publishing the first, in electoral terminology - unofficial results, based on a representative sample of 1.425 fans.
According to them, in a 4-3-3, or 4-3-2-1 formation, the best Buducnost team of all time (so far) looks like this: Dragoje Leković in goal, Duško Vlaisavljević as right back, Slavko Vlahović and Niša Saveljić as two central defenders, Zoran Vorotović as left back, Janko Miročević as the last midfielder, Ante Miročević and Predrag Mijatović as two midfielders in front - left and right, then Dejan Savićević and Dragan-Guzo Vujović as right and left forwards, and Anto Drobnjak as the most forward striker.
The poll is not over, it is clear that the race is still on: Milutin-Mišo Folić, Nikola Jovanović, Miodrag-Grof Božović and Dragoljub Brnović in defense are competing for the ideal 11, in terms of votes, and are actually knocking on the door, followed by Petar Ljumović and Branko Brnović in the middle, and Mojaš Radonjić in attack.
So many aces in one place, for new ideas - at the end of the voting, that's why we will declare the second, and even the third "ideal" team of the Future of all time.
Ideal, in quotation marks, because as it says in the text above the voting itself, there is no ideal team, even if it is composed of thousands of objective or subjective opinions. We will try, however, to get as close as possible to that “ideal” concept, aware that it is difficult to compare and compile generations, different eras, aware that the new, younger generations participate the most in the voting (the most people in the poll voted were people aged 35 to 44), who were not even born when the great Future was being made. Pre-war and post-war football players will certainly be a little deprived in these circumstances, but if they do not find themselves in the ideal team, we will do our best to at least mention them - and many of them did get votes. But, that is the fate of the point in time in which the ideal team is chosen.
"FIGHT" AT THE BACKS AND AT THE TOP OF THE ATTACK
Dragoje Leković, the golden Chilean, a goalkeeper who was in the SFRY and FR Yugoslavia teams at two World Cups, received the most votes in the goalkeeping position - 550, which is almost 40 percent, and twice as many as Mladen Božović (229) and Momčilo Vujačić (217), who are second and third respectively in the current ranking. Božidar Dedović is third on the list, Žarko Lučić fourth, Saša Petrović fifth, and votes were also received by Jovan Hajduković, the famous goalkeeper who stood in goal for Buducnost, which reached the final of the Marshal Tito Cup in 1965 as a second division team, and lost it 2:1 to Dinamo Zagreb.
1.260
Dejan Savićević received 1.425 votes, out of 1,425 people who voted in the poll for the ideal Buducnost team until last night. This is also the best individual result - the former great football ace received 88,5 percent of the votes in his position, right striker
Some other older, middle, and even younger generations of goalkeepers were also on the list: Božidar Belojević, Branislav Đukanović, Miloš Krstajić, Srđan Kljajević, Miroslav Vujadinović, Miloš Dragojević...
Duško Vlaisavljević leads the right-back position with 460 votes, but Mišo Folić is close behind with 421. Between the two, the search will most likely be for a right-back for the ideal team, but the number of votes received by Vojo Gardašević, Nikola Janković and Risto Lakić should not be ignored.
There is a big fight in the central defense positions, but also at left back, where Zoran-Zoja Vorotović is “narrowly” ahead of Dragoljub Brnović (426, compared to 329 votes). Rajko Folić, Goran Perišić and Risto Radunović received a significant number of votes there.
In the midfield, the closest two places are currently Slavko Vlahović, the club legend and the player with the most appearances in the blue and white jersey (595 votes), and Niša Saveljić, a former member of the FR Yugoslavia national team (579). They are closely followed by Miodrag Božović (486), followed by Nikola Jovanović (335), then Vojislav Vučević (187), and Miodrag Vukotić (170). There are also Branislav Drobnjak and Cveto Savković, and among the older players, Vučina Vasović and Branko Rašović also received votes.
BRANKO BRNOVIĆ “INVADES” THE BACK MIDFIELD?
Janko Miročević leads the competition for the last midfielder (494), ahead of Petar-Cac Ljumović (299) and Momir Bakrač (139). They could face serious competition from Branko Brnović, a former national team player of the SFRY and FR Yugoslavia, who was initially “delayed” because he was projected to play in the right midfielder position, where Predrag Mijatović, his teammate from the “Golden Chileans”, the former great ace of Real Madrid, is the clear favorite.
Peđa, of course, received a convincing majority in that position - as many as 1,020 votes, and as we have already indicated that we will not hesitate to move universal players, such as Brnović, to another position if they receive enough votes, this means that the former Partizan and Espanyol ace will easily compete for the position of the last midfielder. It is similar with Željko Petrović, who is third in the voting for the right midfielder position, but convincingly behind Mijatović.
DOMINATION OF DEJ, PEĐE, TONKO
As for the left midfielder position, there was no doubt - Ante Miročević, the first "blue" football icon, a representative of the SFR Yugoslavia for Budućnost, received 868 votes. The most votes after him, but significantly less - 388, went to Igor Burzanović, probably the last big ten of the Podgorica club.
The expected and greatest dominance of Dejan Savićević, a two-time European champion and football genius, in the right-wing forward position (1.260 - a record number of votes), while the famous dribbler Dragan-Guzo Vujović dominated in the left-wing position as expected (900 votes, with Gano Ćerić being the closest).
There is a serious race at the top of the attack, where Anto Drobnjak leads with 445 votes ahead of Mojaš Radonjić (338) and Fatos Bećiraj (292).
The survey will last until the end of December.
