The pioneering football team of Montenegro ended its appearance at the UEFA Development Tournament in Moldova with a defeat to Bulgaria.

The Falcons suffered their second defeat in the tournament, after Moldova, against Bulgaria, with a score of 2:1.

After half an hour of play, Montenegro could have taken the lead, however, Aleksandar Radojevic was inaccurate after a corner kick. On the other hand, Bulgaria took the lead in the 52nd minute through Danijel Lilkovski.

The equalizer came in the 64th minute - Đorđije Peruničić took a free kick from the right, and Aleksa Miranović was in the right place. The final score was set by Emilijan Nikolov ten minutes before the end of the regular time of the match.

"A difficult and demanding match against an excellent Bulgarian team, which justified its role as a favorite in this tournament, where it recorded all the victories. But we can be satisfied with what we showed up to a certain point. The guys gave their maximum, were disciplined and aggressive in the game, tried to play as much as the opponent allowed us, but with the score 1:1 we had to change a good part of the team in order for certain players to meet the tournament norm. After that, they simply could not parry and contribute, so we conceded a goal at those moments. However, as long as there are matches like this, we can only progress," said coach Vladan Savić.
