Born in Nikšić and a legend of Buducnost - there are many such footballers throughout history, one of them is Momir Mićo Bakrac.
Bakrač wore the Sutjeska jersey, he was also in Hajduk Split, but he left his biggest mark at the stadium under Gorica - he played for Budućnost from 1977 to 1984, although he almost ended up in Ljubljana after growing up in Sutjeska.
He could have joined Olimpija then, and he could have joined Partizan a few years later, but he stayed in Podgorica until 1984. That's when he received a call-up to the national team, for which, despite frequent calls, he never made his debut...
"Vijesti" continues a series of interviews with Bakrač as part of the survey "We are choosing the ideal team of Buducnost", and the 68-year-old Bakrač agrees that it is really difficult to put together "11 magnificent ones", aware that many greats of Montenegrin football have worn the blue and white jersey.
- There are aces in Buducnost for many more than one team - says Bakrač at the beginning of the interview.
Mico is one of them, although his arrival at Buducnost was unusual in itself.
- I was supposed to go from Sutjeska to Olimpija, Zoja Vorotović and me. More precisely, we were already in Ljubljana at the invitation of the coach Nedeljka Gugolja, when we were somehow ordered by the Football Association to return to Montenegro. We headed back, Zoja, myself and the coach. Dragoljub Milosevic and arrived in the Future - Bakrač points out.
What happened that caused such a directive to come from the FSCG?
- They didn't let talented guys leave Montenegro. They wanted us to stay here and develop in the right way - says Bakrač.
It turned out that decision was a complete success.
- The most important thing was that we played. I immediately became a first-team player in the last midfielder position, as soon as I arrived. That's where a serious career began that I'm proud of, I'm proud of all the players from those generations. Buducnost really had a fantastic, very serious team during that period. I remember that after a year he came to the bench instead of Milošević Gojko Zec", and that I became a young representative of Yugoslavia," says Bakrač.
Bakrač has made such an impact that through his performances for Buducnost he has earned a place on the senior Yugoslav national team roster. He regrets that he never made his debut, even though there were many opportunities to do so.
- I was part of the national team at the time Miljan Miljanić in the World Cup qualifiers. I don't know why I didn't make my debut, I was constantly on the bench, although it happened that they would play me with the first team all week. For example, before the match against Denmark that we played in Ljubljana - remembers Bakrač.
And what happened?
- We were preparing everything so that I would be the one to guard the famous Dane ArnesenAnd then he gets a chance in front of me Dževad Mustedanagić, I don't play a single minute. I was a reserve six or seven times, but I never understood why I didn't make my debut. I think I deserved it during that period, I was among the best midfielders in the country according to journalists...
And what was the Future like?
- Terrible! What a team they were. Zoja Vorotović was overwhelming on the left side, they dominated up front Ante Tonko Miročević, Dragan Guzo Vujović, Mojaš Radonjić... We welcomed teams from the big four in front of 20 thousand spectators and beat them convincingly - 4:0 Hajduk and Red Star, Partizan 3:1. Titograd adored Buducnost at that time.
In 1979, Bakrač was close to joining Partizan.
- I should have left then, he was looking at me It will be Mladinić. But the Committee did not allow it at the time, the goal was for the best players to stay in Montenegro. I regret that it did not happen, because as a member of Partizan I would have played for the national team. It was more difficult through Buducnost - says Bakrač.
Five years later, Mićo signed for Hajduk.
- Only a great player could go to Hajduk at that time. I had a wonderful time in Split - Bakrač pointed out.
Bakrač didn't think much when he set out to put together the ideal Buducnost team. He reserved a place among the goalposts for Momcilo Vujacic.
- We played together for two years - he's a legendary goalkeeper. He was an excellent, reliable goalkeeper, a true captain.
Milutin Folic is an easy choice for many at right back, and Bakrač is no exception. On the left side, Vorotović is unassailable for him, and among the centre-backs Vojislav Vukcevic.
- The best right back? Mišo Folić a billion percent. He played almost flawlessly in Buducnost, later they loved him a lot in Split, just like me. Zoja Vorotović was fantastic, he would have been even better if he hadn't lived his life the way he did - then he would have had an amazing career, even though he was in Red Star anyway.
For me, he was the best left back in Yugoslavia, while I remember Vukčević for his jumping ability - he had an incredible rebound - says Bakrač.
Copper - Janko Miročević - that's Mić's ideal tandem in the positions in front of the defense.
- Without false modesty - I think I belong in the ideal team. Janko was a fighter, and he also knew a lot with the ball. I think he would have made a great career in today's football.
Next comes the turn of the masters in the offensive part.
- O Predrag Mijatović everyone knows. He left his mark at Buducnost, then at Partizan, Valencia, and then Real Madrid, where he later worked as a sports director.
Tonko Miročević is a legend among legends, in my opinion the best football player in our history - people came to the stadium to watch him, just like Dejan Savićević and Guza Vujović, who must be in the best team. Their moves are memorable, they were great players.
And the center forward?
- I don't know who could come close to Mojaš Radonjić. In my opinion, he is the best number nine in the history of Buducnost - concluded Bakrač.
Two of Mić's ideal teams of the Future
