He looks at the scorers list and puts Iskra's captain, the 19-year-old Marko Šćepanović to the division of the high second position.
The whirlwind striker has scored eight goals in the Meridianbet Second Montenegrin Football League, and is just one goal away from the top. His Iskra is not quite so high - Danilovgrad's team is sixth, 10 points behind the leaders, Otrant Olimpik.
- We were extremely generous hosts and won incomparably more points on away games. However, we improved our impression in the home win against Rudar in the last game and we hope that we can clearly win six points by the end. We know that Otrant is without a doubt the best team in the league and a team projected for direct placement in the domestic elite. We, on the other hand, are a young team whose goal is to survive without a play-off, but if the opportunity arises, we will try to attack the upper play-off to fill the first league competition. We need to play without oscillations, like in our game in Ulcinj when we beat Otrant, but also in the round of 16 of the Montenegrin Cup, in which we overcame the first league Arsenal and celebrated with a score of 3:0. We are aware that it will not be easy to get close to the top, especially after that sensationally great series of Kom - believes the captain of Danilovgrad.
Although only 19 years old, who was absent from the list of participants in our football's historic appearance at the European Championship (U18 selection, June last year) due to a fear of flying, Šćepanović was given the captain's armband at the club.
Although he is an excellent goal scorer, he wears the number ten jersey.
- It was the president's decision for the captain. Rista Lakić and coach Milan RadulovićAlthough the team is very young, and the goalkeepers of the younger teams stand out in particular Tomas Đurović i Aleksa Karadzic which has, like me, worn the jerseys of the junior national teams. We have a great atmosphere in the team, a fantastic relationship and understanding from everyone in the club, president Lakić, the coach, his assistant Mirko Tamindžija and sports director Vlada Gajić"The club is working seriously and responsibly and I believe that there will be reinforcements in the defensive and midfield lines of the team during the half-season. We will play every game to the maximum in order to please the audience and Iskra fans," said Šćepanović.
In addition to his goals in the championship, the winning goal against Otranto, the Iskra striker was also the scorer in the triumph against Arsenal in the Cup. In the last match, he scored both goals against Rudar.
- I will try to score as many goals as possible, which are important for the team. But I will also continue my streak, because I was the top scorer in the Cadet League of Montenegro with Sutjeska, and the most efficient in the Youth League with Podgorica. I also played for the national teams from 15 to 19 years old, and I also scored for the national team. I also managed to overcome my fear of flying and I hope to play for the national team again - explained Šćepanović.
From the football schools of FK Danilovgrad and Kalćo, to the junior teams of Iskra, Sutjeska and Podgorica, Šćepanović got the opportunity to try his hand at senior football at his home club.
- My older brother also played football, a talented defender, but he gave up due to a knee injury, and the younger one is a winger in the cadet team. Fortunately, I have never had any problems with injuries, and football is at the center of our family conversations and events. I have been playing in the Iskra senior team for a year and a half, but I honestly don't know until when. It all depends on offers from stronger leagues. Although, here I really have maximum support, an opportunity to progress, and I also hope that the club will progress year after year - concluded Šćepanović.
