There is one more round left until the end of the first part of the championship, with the remaining match between Dečić and Buducnost, but after today's matches it is clear that Sutjeska is the autumn champion.
Today, in the 18th round of the MeridianBet First Montenegrin Football League, the team from Nikšić defeated Jedinstvo Franca 2:0 at home, and increased their lead in the standings, as Mornar was defeated by Jezera (2:1), Buducnost by Petrovac (2:1), and Dečić played a draw with Bokelj SBBet (1:1) away.
Sutjeska has seven points more than Mornar, and eight more than Dečić, with a match more than the team from Tuzi. Budućnost has a match less and 11 points less than Dejan Jelenić's team.
Sutjeska took the lead against Jedinstvo today in the 29th minute. Vasko Kalezić crossed from a corner kick, and Marko Đukanović scored with a header.
The final score was set in the 62nd minute, with a precise shot from distance, by Medo Juković.
Jedinstvo, including the Cup, has gone 11 games without a win. The team from Bijelo Polje has not scored a goal in its last four games.
WHERE IS THE FUTURE "SAILING"?
In Buducnost, at the club level, the upheavals never stop, everything is transferred to the field.
Dejan Vukićević's team lost 2:1 in Petrovac, tying for their second defeat and falling to a disappointing sixth place. Even Danilo Vukanić's brilliant goal for the lead in the 6th minute didn't help. Petrovac was better, imposed a rhythm that the visitors couldn't keep up with, and deservedly turned things around and won.
The Pogdańsk team was weakened again - without Lazar Mijović and Lazar Savović, who were removed from the team because they did not want to sign revised contracts.
It's an "eternal" story when it comes to Buducnost, but compliments to Petrovac, who recovered from the shock elimination in the Cup by second-tier Otranto and the defeat by Mornar in the last round.
Zdravko Dragićević's team had the first chance of the match through Adnan Bašić, but it was not disrupted by the leadership of Budućnost - Vukanić hit the very edge of Marko Kordić's goal from about 25 meters.
The turning point, however, came at halftime - Nemanja Carević surprised Milan Mijatović from about 20 meters, and Viktor Živojinović accurately shot the ball diagonally in the 36th minute. There was still almost an hour left, but the score did not change.
LAKE SERIES FOR 4TH PLACE
The third consecutive victory - the fourth in the last five rounds - was achieved by the Jezera players - enough for 4th place in the standings.
Miodrag Džudović's team defeated Mornar 2:1, a team that was perhaps in the best form of all the first-league teams.
Everything was settled in the second half. The home team took the lead in the 56th minute when Aldin Adžović masterfully kicked Đorđe Maksimović, and the Plavljana striker scored his ninth goal of the season. Barani equalized in the 74th minute - Demir Škrijelj combined with Darko Zorić and put the ball into the box, and Nikola Jovićević scored an own goal. However, just five minutes later Plavljana responded - Mario Đoljaj hit the post, the ball reached Ognjen Rolović, who was safe.
Dečić was stopped in Kotor - after drawing with Mornar in Bar (0:0) and defeating Buducnost pod Gorica (1:0) in the previous two rounds, Bokelj players played to a draw with another team from the top (1:1).
The visitors took the lead in the 10th minute when Jonathan Dresaj crossed from the right and Ibrahim Endijaj slotted home. Fatih Muković equalised early in the second half, after which Vladimir Savićević's men had two good chances to turn the game around.
Drago Bumbar hit the crossbar from distance, and Stefan Golubović also missed a good opportunity, as he was stopped by the visitors' goalkeeper Danilo Radošević.
The only goalless match was played between Arsenal and Mladost DG on a terrible pitch in Tivat.
SAŠA BALIĆ ENDED HIS CAREER
By the way, today in Kotor, Bokelj's footballer and former national team player, Saša Balić, ended his career. He was in the starting lineup, but was substituted in the third minute. He was greeted with applause from players from both teams and fans, and after he left the field, he received framed jerseys from representatives of Dečić and Bokelj.
Saša Balić played for Grbalj, Inter Zaprešić, Krivbas, Metalurg, Targu Mures, Sarajevo, Cluj, Zaglebie, Korona, Dinamo Batumi, Dečić and Bokelj in his career.
He played 14 matches for the Montenegrin national team. He made his debut in a friendly match against Uzbekistan on March 25, 2011, and his last match for the "brave falcons" was in the Nations League against Finland on September 9, 2022.
There were no goals in the match between Arsenal and Mladost Lob.Bet in Tivat - 0:0.
