Inter is back at the top of Serie A - the "neroazuri" defeated Genoa 2:1 away last night in the 15th round and took over first place after Napoli's defeat to Udinese (1:0) and Milan's draw with Sassuolo (2:2).
Inter celebrated with goals from Bisek and Martinez, while Vitinho scored on the other end. Cristian Chivu's team now has a point ahead of their city rivals and two ahead of the reigning champions.
"It was a tough game. Genoa has been playing well since De Rossi arrived. We won three points and that's the most important thing," said Kivu.
The Inter coach also commented on the changes he made.
"I did it in accordance with energy and focus. At 2:0, Boni should have entered the game, and then I decided on Tiram, because I wanted a faster player. I brought out Zelinski and moved Akanji forward, because I needed two strong players in midfield," explained Kivu.
He then answered the question of whether his team was underestimated this season.
"They underestimated us and wrote us off at the start of the season, putting us in eighth and tenth place. But we are working hard to show our worth," said Kivu.
The "Neroazure" are set to compete in the Italian Super Cup in Riyadh, where they will face Bologna in the semi-finals. The winner of that match will face the winner of the match between Napoli and Milan in the final.
