Buducnost coach Dejan Vukicevic has requested a mutual termination of cooperation from the Podgorica club, and the management of the Montenegrin champion will make a statement regarding this circumstance in the coming days, announced president Boris Spalevic.
Buducnost finished the first part of the season in the MeridianBet First Montenegrin Football League in seventh place, five points ahead of Arsenal, who are in the play-off zone. The "Blues" were defeated by Decic (1:0) yesterday and suffered four consecutive defeats for the first time.
Dejan Vukićević was appointed coach in mid-September, succeeding Ivan Delić. He is the fourth coach of Buducnost this season - the "blues" parted ways with Ivan Brnović this summer, who was succeeded by Nenad Lalatović. The Serbian expert left after the defeat to Arsenal in Tivat, and the team was then led by Delić, and from mid-September by Vukićević.
"After the fourth consecutive defeat, the head of the coaching staff Dejan Vukićević, as a responsible and experienced sports worker, last night presented the situation in detail to the club's management and requested a mutually agreed termination of the contract as a solution for the further recovery of FK Budućnost, and the club's management will make a statement regarding this circumstance in the coming days. As the club's President, I appreciate the work of the head of the coaching staff so far, he was supported unreservedly by the entire management and had a free hand in his sporting activities and work, with all the necessary conditions, and we were all aware of the complexity of the moment in which he came to the club and the gravity of the circumstances in which he operated. I appreciate that he made good decisions in the interest of the club, that he gave of himself in full coaching and experience capacity, however, Vukićević's performance was not up to the task, and the sporting result is the basic measure of the success of work," Spalević's statement states.
The President of Buducnost emphasizes that this is the moment when a clear line must be drawn and move on.
"This is the moment when a clear line must be drawn and a move forward must be made, because FK Budućnost has the strength, infrastructure and support to emerge stronger from this situation. This is what loyal fans expect, this is what all of us who love the club expect, and we will rise from this process, with a clear vision, new impulse, new team energy and solid foundations for future successes. After the transfer window, further struggle and sporting victories are expected, and all the ballast from the past that has hindered the club's development so far will not be tolerated. Everyone will bear responsibility within their respective responsibilities, because only responsible action leads to shared success and that is what we are aiming for," emphasizes the club's first man.
Spalević said that the changes that are coming are forced, but also deliberate and aimed at the long-term recovery and strengthening of the club.
"It is clear that the management of FK Buducnost continues the phase of necessary and decisive changes, because legal and financial consolidation has been ensured and is being implemented in the expected direction, while the focus will be increased on the sports sector and the transitional period from which we need to emerge more complete and stronger. It is obvious that the current results are not acceptable for a club of this size, tradition and ambitions and require urgent and clear moves. The changes that follow are forced, but also thoughtful and directed towards the long-term recovery and strengthening of the club, while everyone will bear responsibility within their competence, because no one is more important than FK Buducnost," emphasized the president of Buducnost.
As he said, "there will be no rotten compromises."
"Various speculations, comments, and guesses could be heard in the media. We expect there will be more, but they only reflect the great interest of the public, and to all those who follow sports, who love Buducnost, we would like to say that we will not deviate from the European goal and focus that is clear and defined for the further continuation of work. And that is the formation of a team loyal to the club, dedicated to the goals and the fight for the emblem, with the gradual inclusion of talents from the youth school and expected reinforcements in the upcoming transfer window, in order to reach the long-awaited goal, which is the group stage of a European competition. Only a club that works as a team, develops and affirms its own players builds stability, a recognizable identity and lasting competitive success - that is the path from which this Board will not deviate and there will be no rotten compromises," concluded the president of Buducnost, Boris Spalević.
