Paris Saint-Germain's French footballer Ousmane Dembele won the award for the best footballer of the last season at the "The Best FIFA Football Awards" ceremony in Doha tonight.
Dembele won the Champions League, Ligue 1, Coupe de France and UEFA Super Cup last season. He also won the Ballon d'Or award for the best player of the year in September.
He celebrated ahead of Kylian Mbappe (Real Madrid) and Lamine Jamal (Barcelona).
For the third year in a row, Spanish player Ajtana Bonmati from Barcelona was named the best female footballer. Bonmati won the Ballon d'Or for the third time in a row this year. She was unable to attend the ceremony in Doha due to recovering from an injury.
"I am grateful to have been given this honor. If it weren't for all the players, coaches and fans, I wouldn't have anything to enjoy," she said.
Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique, who won the European Championship and the national championship with the French club, was chosen as the best coach of the year.
The award for best coach in the women's competition went to England women's national team coach Sarina Wigman, who won the European Championship title in Switzerland with England this summer.
Fans of the Iraqi club Zako have won the FIFA Fan of the Year award. They threw thousands of stuffed animals onto the pitch before an Iraqi league match on May 13th, which were then collected from the pitch before kick-off and donated to sick children.
The FIFA Fair Play Award went to Dr. Andreas Harlas-Neuking. Dr. Harlas-Neuking is the team doctor for the German club Jan Regensburg, and was awarded for his heroic act in April last year, when he revived a fan who had fallen ill just before a 2nd Bundesliga match.
