Inter Milan player Denzel Dumfries underwent surgery on his left ankle and will be out of action for two to three months, Italian media report.
Dumfries had been having problems with that injury for some time, and as the recovery was not going according to plan, after consulting with doctors, it was decided that surgery was necessary.
Dumfries is facing a period of recovery, and during that time Inter will try to find a replacement on the market.
Trento's current situation also raises the question of Dumfries' future at Inter. His contract with the Italian team expires in 2028. However, he has a €25 million release clause in his contract, which is only valid for a certain period in the summer transfer window.
