The Professional Footballers' Union of Montenegro (SPFCG) will take all necessary actions to resolve the case of two FK Lovćen players, Lazar Baltić and Vojin Jeknić, as soon as possible, the organization announced.

The two were removed from the team by the Lovćen Football Club at the end of November due to suspicions that they participated in fixing the match against Rudar.

"Following their appeal regarding the club's decision to remove them from the team, SPFCG has already addressed the FSCG Disciplinary Commission with a request that the competent inspector take all necessary actions, especially since the club sent a press release to the media, in which it made serious accusations about their involvement in rigging the outcome of the match against FK Rudar, without any relevant procedure, thereby violating the integrity of the aforementioned players, thus calling into question their continued careers," SPFCG states.

"Our lawyer has already sent a letter to the FSCG and we expect a response as soon as possible. Given that the transfer deadline is approaching, we expect all competent authorities to have understanding to take appropriate actions as soon as possible, present evidence and determine the player's possible liability," it is emphasized.

Finally, a message for everyone:

"We draw attention to the fact that such inappropriate targeting and condemnation through a media release, without relevant evidence, must never become a practice in our football. Regardless of the player's employment status, we believe that it is unacceptable for players to receive notification of termination of their engagement with the club via SMS messages. In all previous cases, in which proceedings were conducted against some players from our league, due to suspicions of match-fixing by UEFA, FSCG or the Police Administration, SPFCG did not comment, not wanting to influence the investigative actions, but as this is an unprecedented case, we will make every effort to ensure that the truth comes to light," the statement said.
