That football has united the world and that there is no point on the planet that is not accessible was shown by the example of Igor Vukčević, a 26-year-old striker who spent the past six months in Tajikistan.
And this after the best season of his career, in which he was the top scorer in the Second CFL with 16 goals and the leader of Mladost DG on his way back to the elite ranks.
"The whole of 2025 was very successful for me. I was the top scorer in the second league and helped Mladost return to the First League. That's something that will remain in my very fond memory," says Vukčević.
He decided, however, to try his hand abroad, and made the brave decision to head "into the unknown", almost 5.000 kilometers away from home.
"When I received an offer from Tajikistan, I decided to accept it, to see what it was like to be abroad, to experience something different. The agreement was that I would stay at the Khujand club for six months, and so I became the first footballer from Montenegro to play in that country. It was a challenging and great experience. I am satisfied, but I decided not to continue, considering that life in that country is a bit specific," Vukčević points out.
And now he is back in Montenegro, a free agent - a proven striker.
"The transfer window is approaching, I hope I can find a new job quickly and continue scoring goals."
