Mornar football players gathered today at the SRC "Topolica" stadium and officially began preparations for the continuation of the season.
Barani starts the continuation of the Meridianbet First Montenegrin Football League from second position, four points below the leader Sutjeska after the 19th round.
The players were wished a successful and injury-free half-season by the leaders of the Bar first league team – Mayor Dušan Raičević, President of the Board of Directors Milovan Mićo Perović, Sports Director Mitar Novaković, Board Member Svetislav Marković and Head of the Coaching Staff Veselin Vesko Stešević.
"The points balance is solid, but there must be no room for relaxation. The goals are much bigger now, and the priority is to qualify for Europe. If an opportunity arises for something more - we must take advantage of it," said Raičević and added:
"Discipline is an absolute requirement for success. The club and the city will do everything to ensure stable conditions, and we expect the team to have the utmost respect for the jersey, the fans and the club."
Mornar had problems with injuries during the first part of the season, which led to a poor run of results and the club's separation from coach Zoran Đurašković.
The player's recovery coincided with the arrival of the experienced Stešević and the team was then an absolute hit in the championship, but also in the Montenegrin Cup, as Mornar advanced to the semifinals.
"Congratulations on the performance so far, but now we have to work even harder. The goal is clear - one cup, and if the opportunity arises, both. Europe is unquestionable. You have all the conditions, we are going to Turkey for the first time for preparations and we must justify that effort and investment with maximum dedication," Perović emphasized.
Barani will train in their city until January 26th, when they will go on a "glaze" - towards Belek, Antalya.
Mornar will play three friendly matches before leaving for Turkey for training. Youth players Đorđije Leković, Luka Perović and Petar Vlaović will also train with the first team.
The cooperation with Balša Barović, Luka Malešević, Alden Škrijelj and Malić Mucević has been ended by mutual agreement.
Rivals in Antalya: Aktobe, Orenburg, Riga...
The Mornar football club will be training in Antalya for the first time this winter.
Vesko Stešević's chosen ones will have at their disposal the luxurious Atlantis hotel in Belek and the grounds of the Arkadija complex.
Mornar will play four friendly matches in Turkey, and their rivals are teams from the east - the former Soviet Union.
Barani will play against Aktobe from Kazakhstan on January 28th, their rival is Orenburg from Russia on January 31st, a test match against Riga from Latvia is scheduled for February 7th, while the rival is Rodina from Moscow a day later.
