Stuttgart's players defeated Bayer Leverkusen 4:1 away tonight in the 16th round of the German Bundesliga.
Stuttgart settled the question of the winner after the first half, taking a 4-0 lead with goals from Jamie Levelling in the seventh and 45th minutes, Maximilian Mittelstedt in the 29th, and Deniz Undav in the second minute of injury time.
The scorer of the only goal for Leverkusen was Alejandro Grimaldo in the 66th minute from a penalty kick.
Stuttgart recorded their ninth victory in the German championship and are fifth in the standings with 29 points, the same number as Leverkusen in fourth place.
Earlier today, in the first round of the Bundesliga season, Freiburg defeated Hamburg 2-1, Union Berlin and Mainz played 2-2, as did Hadenheim and Cologne, while the St. Pauli - Leipzig and Werder - Hoffenheim matches were postponed due to heavy snowfall in the eastern and northern parts of Germany.
Eintracht and Dortmund drew 3:3 last night, while Monchengladbach - Augsburg and Bayern - Wolfsburg meet on Sunday.
