Egypt, the record holder for the number of African champion trophies (seven), has advanced to the semi-finals of the 35th edition of the Black Continent Cup, which is being held in Morocco.
The "Pharaohs" did it by eliminating the current champion - Ivory Coast - 3:2.
The scorers for Egypt were Omar Marmoush in the fourth minute, Rami Rabia in the 32nd minute and Mohamed Salah in the 52nd minute.
The goals for Ivory Coast were scored by Ahmed Fatu's own goal in the 40th minute and Gela Due in the 73rd minute.

Egypt will play Senegal in the semi-finals on Wednesday, January 14th.
The other semi-final pairing consists of Morocco and Nigeria.
