Sutjeska's players began preparations today for the second part of the season in which, as they say, they want to win the title, the sixth in the club's history.
The team from Nikšić finished the first part of the season, during which they changed coaches, as Milija Savović was succeeded by Dejan Jelenić, in first place with four points more than Mornar, five more than Dečić, and 11 more than Buducnost.
"The goal is to return Sutjeska to the place it belongs to. We at the club are dedicated to achieving that goal, I think that in the future, with a good preparation period, we will do our best to achieve that goal," said Sutjeska coach Dejan Jelenić at today's gathering.
Three reinforcements arrived - Miloš Vračar, Deni Hočko and Marko Mrvaljević.
"In cooperation with the management, I wanted to bring in players to boost the team's energy. The guys have the quality to take what we have to a higher level. I don't think the transfer window is over, if the opportunity arises, we might bring in one or two more players. We are limited by developments on the market. We won't bring in players at any cost, but in a targeted manner, to improve the quality we have," said Jelenić.
Sutjeska will stay in Nikšić until February 3, and then travel to Ulcinj for preparations. In Nikšić, the team will play four friendly matches - against Adria (January 17), Arsenal (January 24), Bokelj (January 30) and Iskra (January 31), while in Ulcinj they will play against Otranto (February 6), Mladost (February 7) and Jezera (February 10), and on February 14 in Bar against Mornar, there will be a dress rehearsal before the championship resumes.
"We have agreed on eight preparatory matches. A sufficient number of matches with the aim of selecting players, so that they have enough minutes so that the team can crystallize by the first game against Buducnost and that they will come out with the best squad for that game. I hope that by the time we leave for Ulcinj, we will have created a good base, where we will deal with tactical details, in terms of how the team should look in the spring," Jelenić pointed out.
The coach of the Nikšić "blues" also spoke about potential departures.
"There is no transfer list, because first we need to see what the reinforcements will bring us. We don't want to rush, in case something unplanned happens somewhere, so that we can keep the squad we have. If everything goes well at the start, then we will have to work in parallel on releasing a sufficient number of players so that we can design the training process as it should be," explained Jelenić.
The club's president, Miomir Bakrač, expects to celebrate the title at the end of the season near Bistrica.
"Our only goal is to win the title. There are a large number of players here, and we have brought three experienced ones. That gives us the motivation to have quality players at all times. There are a lot of local players who are attached to the seniors. Today we signed a scholarship agreement with three youngsters, Tijanić, Simonović and Đukić. The players from the dual registration have returned, we brought Hočko, Mrvaljević and Vračar. I hope that this squad will satisfy our appetites. I am convinced that if we are united, united and real, the title will come to Nikšić. We expect another sound reinforcement, we will know during the day and that would be the end of the transfer window," said Bakrač.
