Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes does not want to leave the football club in the January transfer window, British media reported today.
In recent days, information has emerged that Fernandes is considering his future at Old Trafford following the dismissal of coach Ruben Amorim.
Fernandes met with one of the coaches on Amorim's coaching staff following the Portuguese coach's dismissal, sparking rumours that the 31-year-old may be looking for a way out.
However, BBC sources familiar with the situation have said Fernandes remains committed to the club and has always planned to assess the situation in the summer, when he has a year left on his contract.
Fernandes rejected a lucrative offer from Al-Hilal last summer and it is believed he would try to stay in Europe if he leaves Manchester United.
The Portuguese footballer recently admitted that he was hurt to learn that the club wanted to sell him and said that the leaders did not have the courage to tell him because Amorim wanted him to stay.
After Amorim's dismissal, the management appointed Darren Fletcher as interim coach for two games, and then decided that Michael Carrick would lead the team until the end of the season.
