Danilo Karadžić - Karadža, dedicated his life to Buducnost. The "Blue and White" family said goodbye to their Karadža!
A long-time football player and long-time secretary of the Podgorica club passed away today.
"A child of Buducnost. A first team player. An official. A mentor. A friend. A man who was not just a part of the club, but the foundation of the blue and white sanctuary. And he left quietly, the way he lived, in the Titograd style of ease and unobtrusiveness," Buducnost announced in Memoriam to the man who spent not only his footballing but also his entire life at the club.
"Danilo Karadžić - Karadža. He dedicated his entire life to the colors that meant more to him than sports, even more than life. Because Buducnost was not an obligation for him - it was family. And somewhere up there, he certainly went with only one regret - that in 1977, when the Cup final was played with Hajduk, he had to join the army. A place in the stands and among the fans could not replace his place on the field.
Through Karadža's hands, advice and support, generations grew up. He taught the young how to play, how to respect the jersey, how to love the club. He advised when it was difficult, was a support when it was needed most. He taught everything - how to remain human.
"The mark of Danilo Karadžić is not the results, and there were some, the mark of our Karadža is everything he left behind. And that mark is eternal. Just like our Karadža. A man whose work will forever remain in the history of the club," FK Budućnost announced.
Former coach and technical director of Buducnost, Brano Milačić, said goodbye to Karadža on Facebook:
"Danilo Karadžić, the legend of Montenegrin football, has died. He was an exceptional man, a footballer of a special kind, an unsurpassed club secretary. Few people, like him, have passed through FK Buducnost. I feel great sadness that Danilo is no longer with us. A legend has gone, a dear man, a special friend, whom I will never forget," wrote Milačić.
