Edin Džeko became the German champion in May 2009 with the fantastic Wolfsburg generation, then played with great success in the Premier League (Manchester City), Serie A (Roma and Inter), and now he has come full circle.
The legendary striker from Bosnia and Herzegovina is back in German football, in Zweig - he will wear the Schalke jersey until the end of the season.
The giant from Gelsenkirchen wants to return to the elite this season, they are currently the leader in the table and with Jack, a seasoned goal scorer, their chances are much greater.
"From the moment we first made contact, I felt a great desire in Edin to join us. I knew we couldn't miss this opportunity," said Schalke director Juri Mulder.
Džeko comes to the "Feltins Arena" after a six-month spell at Fiorentina which was an obvious failure.
Before "Viola", he wore the Fenerbahçe jersey.
"It wasn't difficult for me to decide to take this step. As soon as we connected, I started watching some Schalke matches and through conversations with coach Miron Muslić and national team teammate Nikola Katić, I knew that this was it," Džeko pointed out.
