Manchester City returned to winning ways in the Premier League.
The "Citizens" triumphed for the first time since December 27th last year and ended a series of four failures (three draws and a defeat) - they did it in a duel with Wolverhampton (2:0).
Erling Haaland remained on the bench, Omar Marmuš got the chance and immediately made a contribution as he was the one who started the "wolves" in the 6th minute.
In first-half stoppage time, Antoine Semenyo scored the final goal, his first Premier League goal since arriving from Bournemouth.
Crystal Palace newcomer Mark Gay also made his debut for City, while Erling Haaland was only on the field from the 73rd minute when he came on for Ryan Sharkey.
"We beat a team that was in a good run and I can be satisfied," said Pep Guardiola.
He commented on the games of Marmuš and Gei.
"People look at everything through numbers, and I'm happy with the energy Omar has. Gei adapted quickly to what we're looking for, and that's the quality of great footballers," Guardiola pointed out.
City have now closed the gap on leaders Arsenal to four points with a game in hand, and the Gunners host Manchester United in the derby on Sunday.
Tottenham avoided defeat at Burnley (2:2) with a goal from Christian Romero, while Fulham won against Brighton (2:1) and West Ham against Sunderland - 3:1.
