Liverpool midfielder Jeremy Frimpong will be out for several weeks due to injury, the club has announced.
Frimpong was injured on Wednesday during the match against Qarabag (6:0) in the final round of the Champions League.
"It's not as bad as we thought. So it's something positive from something that wasn't positive," said Liverpool manager Arne Slott.
Slot did not specify what kind of injury it was, whether it was a groin or a tendon.
The Reds host Newcastle in the Premier League on Saturday, and Slott said his side have no room for error, having already "made too many".
"We already thought that every period was crucial, that hasn't changed. The closer you get to the end, the fewer opportunities you have to make a mistake. Now we're in a position where we can't afford them," the Dutchman said.
Liverpool is sixth in the table with 36 points, 14 less than leaders Arsenal.
