Werder Bremen football club announced today that Horst Steffen is no longer the club's coach.
The decision to sack Steffen came a day after a 1-1 draw with Borussia Monchengladbach, which extended Werder's winless streak in the Bundesliga to ten consecutive matches.
Steffen was appointed coach of the Bremen club last summer.
Werder is currently 15th in the table with 19 points, just one point ahead of Mainz, who are first in the danger zone.
