A famous father and three professional footballer sons - Diego Simeone's children followed their father's path and each of them managed to leave a certain mark.
The oldest Giovanni has been playing in Serie A for years for Genoa, Fiorentina, Cagliari, Napoli, and Torino, the middle Gianluca had the least notable career (he initially wore the jersey of River), while the youngest Giuliano is perhaps the most promising.
Unlike his brothers, he is the only one his father trains at the club, and Giuliano has shown many times that he deserves every minute on the field.
The 23-year-old spoke with another legendary Argentine and Real Madrid goal scorer, Jorge Valdan, about his relationship with Ćola as a father and coach.
"Sometimes everything is strange, primarily because of what others will think of me," Giuliano said on the show Valdano does for "Movistar".
Valdano had the answer.
"The best thing you can do is when your teammates talk bad about the coach, you talk even worse."
"No doubt, not in the slightest," Giuliano replied with a laugh.
He emphasized that his relationship with his father and coach is actually "very natural," but also revealed an interesting story from his life with him.
"Now, for example, I can't live with my father. When I celebrated my 18th birthday, he told me: You're 18, get out of my house and become a man."
Unlike the Giuliano brothers, he did not want to put the surname Simeone above the number on his jersey.
"I remember when I moved to another team, the first time I had a name on my jersey. My brothers and father wore Simeone, and I always wanted to build my own path, separate from my last name. That's why I put Giuliano, for myself, for my name. I liked that decision and it was mine. I talked to my family, my family, my girlfriend... There were different opinions. In the end, I decided and I liked it. I want to be known as Giuliano," explained the young Argentine.
He also says that after an injury he considered quitting football.
"When I saw that my ankle was completely twisted, I said I would never play football again."
And who are young Simeone's favorite coaches?
"Yes, I am a Colista, but I also like Pep Guardiola and Luis Enrique," Giuliano concluded.
