Italian coach Roberto De Zerbi is no longer Marseille's head coach, the French club has confirmed.
Marseille announced late last night that the termination of cooperation was agreed upon by mutual consent.
"This was a difficult joint decision, taken after careful consideration in the best interests of the club, in order to respond to the sporting challenges until the end of the season," the French club said.
De Zerbi's departure came after a convincing 5-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain, but also the recent elimination from the Champions League after a 3-0 defeat to Club Brugge.
De Zerbi took over at Marseille in the summer of 2024 after leaving Brighton, where he spent just under two years.
Last season, he led Marseille to second place in Ligue 1, and the club is currently fourth in the French league, 12 points behind leaders PSG.
