Tottenham lost at home to Newcastle (2:1) last night, in the 26th round of the Premier League, and that match was the last on the Spurs bench for Thomas Frank, who was fired today.
The London team announced on social media today that they have parted ways with their previous manager.
Tottenham have gone eight matches without a win in the Premier League and are in 16th place in the table, five points ahead of West Ham, who are in the relegation zone.
Spurs' last domestic triumph was on December 28th last year, when they beat Crystal Palace 1-0. This is their longest winless streak since 2008. And in their last 17 league games, they have won just twice.
Tottenham said in a statement that club officials "were determined to give Frank the time and support he needed to build a future together, but recent results indicate that the team needs a change."
Frank succeeded Ajdz Postecoglou in June, and signed a contract with Tottenham until 2028.
With Tottenham, he was eliminated from the FA and League Cups, while securing a direct place in the round of 16 of the Champions League, as the team finished the league in fourth place.
"We would like to thank Thomas for everything he has done during his time at the club," Tottenham said.
