Croatian football coach Igor Tudor has been appointed as Tottenham's new head coach until the end of the season, the London club announced today.
Tudor, who has been out of work since October, took over the team after the dismissal of Thomas Frank, at a time when Tottenham is in 16th place in the Premier League and five points above the relegation zone.
The club's statement states that Tudor comes with a clear goal, to improve the team's play and results in the final part of the season.
"Igor joins us with a clear focus: to raise the level of play, deliver results and move us towards the top of the Premier League table. His task is simple, to introduce organisation, intensity and competitive spirit in a crucial part of the competition year," the club said in a statement.
Tudor said that he is aware of the responsibility he is taking on.
"It is a great honor to come to the club at such an important moment. I understand the responsibility that has been given to me and my focus is clear, to bring greater stability to the game and to perform in every game with a clear idea and determination. This team has quality, and my task is to organize it, bring energy and quickly improve results," said Tudor.
Tottenham will next play city rivals Arsenal on February 22. The club will look for a permanent manager during the summer.
