Young Montenegrin international Filip Perović will try to help St. Polten in their promotion to the Austrian Bundesliga in the spring part of the season. Perović was loaned by LASK Linz to the first-placed team in the Austrian 2nd league on a dual registration basis.

Perović moved from Iskra to LASK last summer, but played for that club's U21 team in the first part of the season.

- LASK is at the top of the table, ambitions have increased and the team is fighting for the title. There are five experienced strikers in my position at the club, including the Austrian national team player Saša Kalajdžić, who is on loan from Wolverhampton. So I trained with the first team, studied, played friendly matches, and played for the U-21 team and scored 11 goals with three assists - the 19-year-old striker tells "Vijesti".

Perović has already completed four training sessions at his new club, and was also on the team for 45 minutes during a friendly match against the Czech team Taborsko.

- I am a LASK player and now, according to the loan agreement, I can play, but only when the first team needs me. It is a club where I had conditions that are said to be: no flaws. And the start in a new environment is promising, the club leaders immediately interviewed me, and the team is young, I like the way it plays and there are a lot of young people who are originally from the former Yugoslavia, so there is no language barrier. The training sessions are in English, although I am already starting to understand German. I have been received very well, in St. Polten they think that I will be of help to them in their quest for promotion to the Austrian Bundesliga. And yes, I met many of the St. Polten players during the preparations, because we played a friendly match with them. I played three test matches for LASK during the winter, with the effect of two assists - Perović emphasized.

The former U19 and current U21 Montenegro national team player signed a two-year contract with the club from Linz, plus one more year by mutual consent.

- I didn't know much about Linz, but it's a beautiful city, and LASK is a great club. It's also nice in ST Polten, I'm temporarily staying at the Olympic Hotel, a minute from the stadium, and I'll get an apartment from Tuesday. It's also a well-organized club with great conditions. The city is smaller, but 30 kilometers from Linz - says Perović, explaining how the transfer to LASK came about this summer:

- I was recommended by my first coach, Nenad Filipović, who was still with the Elektron Roosters, who followed my progress. In my CV I have appearances for all the junior national teams, a place at the European Youth Championship and I really got a great contract.

For Perović, football is a way of life, the national team is a dream

From Elektron, through school and the cadets of Buducnost, to the leader of Iskra's attack. That was the teenage journey of Filip Perović, who in his last season with the Danilovgrad club scored eight goals in the championship and two in the Montenegrin Cup.

Perović played for all the younger teams, made his debut with a goal against Greece in the youth national team, and was also on the field in the defeat against Italy in the European Championship qualifiers.

- The best feeling in my career was that first place for one of our teams in the European Championship. It's unreal how happy we were. It was not realistic to do more in the final tournament, in competition with only Spain, and us without Andrija Bulatović and Vasilije Adžić, and injuries separated numerous players from the team. Like others from that generation, my dream would be to play for the strongest national team - says Perović.

In the Perović family, football is life.

- And literally everything revolves around football. Father Dejan defended for Iskra, Leotar..., was a scholarship holder at Buducnost and is now the goalkeeper coach at Iskra, and uncle Goran leads the younger categories at that club. Brother Mihailo was the captain of the youth team, but he had two serious injuries and did not debut for the senior team. Three goals for Buducnost in the Montenegrin Cup final against Lovćen remain in his biography. He played excellently last season in Jezero, now he is in Indonesia. He is nine and a half years older and his advice and support are very important to me. Fortunately, I have never had problems with injuries and I hope to achieve my dream of playing for the national team - emphasized Filip Perović.
