Tottenham's new interim coach Igor Tudor has said there is "no time for excuses", stressing that the team's current position in the Premier League is unacceptable.
The former Juventus coach was appointed last week as successor to Thomas Frank, who was sacked after a poor run of results. Tottenham are currently just five points above the relegation zone with 12 games remaining in the season.
"I come knowing that the situation is not easy. There is no time to make excuses," Tudor told the club's website, as reported by the BBC.
"The club's position at the moment is such that no one can accept it. No Tottenham fan can be happy with this," he added.
The Croatian expert pointed out that the team is also facing major personnel problems, as 11 players are out due to injuries.
"The situation is difficult because we have a lot of injuries. The priority is to give the team everything it needs at this moment. First of all, the team needs confidence and courage," said Tudor.
Frank was sacked after a 2-1 defeat to Newcastle, which extended their winless streak to eight games.
Tudor will make his debut on the Tottenham bench on February 22, when Tottenham welcome city rivals Arsenal to their home ground.
Despite poor results in the domestic championship, Frank managed to lead Tottenham to the knockout stages of the Champions League.
