It was clear after the first half that this would be a nightmare night for Qarabag, when the English team led 5:0, and Anthony Gordon scored four times (two from penalties) against Mateusz Kochalski. One goal was scored by Malik Chau.
After the break, the team led by Gurban Gurbanov started much more courageously, reducing the deficit to 5:1 through Elvin Jafarguliyev, and had several good attempts, but only conceded one more goal by the end - Jacob Murphy made the final score 6:1.
Janković ran a lot, fought, and made some good moves, but against a powerful rival from the Premier League, the Azerbaijani champion had no chance.
