On April 4, 2021, then-Sutjeska footballer Aleksa Marušić scored a goal after 16 seconds in a match against OFK Titograd - it was the fastest goal in the history of the Montenegrin football league, a record that stood until March 1, 2026.
Then a new chapter in the history of Montenegrin football was written. Jezero welcomed Sutjeska in the 22nd round of the MeridianBet First Football League and took the lead in the ninth second of the match - the striker of the team from Plav Milivoje Raičević was in the right place after the intervention of Ante Babić and checked Vladan Giljen from about 25 meters. Raičević was in Sutjeska five years ago, when Marušić broke the record, and now he broke that record against his former club after just nine seconds.
"Honestly, I didn't think at the time that I had scored the fastest goal. When the match ended, I picked up my phone and saw a notification from the Vijesti portal: "Fastest goal in the history of Montenegrin football". I didn't feel like I had scored the fastest goal. I knew that Aleksa Marušić held that record, because we played together in Sutjeska at the time. I'm happy that it turned out that way. It's a nice feeling. I'm sorry that we didn't win (the match ended 1:1 on aggregate), but it's a nice feeling to enter the history of Montenegrin football," Raičević told "Vijesti".
Raičević opened the second half of the season in the right way. He was the scorer in three games in a row, as he scored against Bokelj SBBet, and then on Saturday in the duel with Arsenal. In total, he has scored seven goals this season and has two assists.
"I'm satisfied with both this season and last. I scored seven goals this season, I also have two assists, everything is going well. I play every game, I have no problems with injuries, I hope I can continue at this pace."
Jezero celebrated their away win against Arsenal (2:1) on Saturday and recorded their first win in the second half of the season.
"A tough game, we managed to come away with a triumph after three matches in which we were leading, and then squandered the advantage. We managed to bring the game to an end and celebrate. It was a tough duel, they had chances that they didn't take, we used ours in the best possible way and deservedly reached the three points," Raičević pointed out.
Jezero is in fourth place in the standings, only two points behind second-placed Mornar, and is still “alive” in the Cup, where Miodrag Džudović's team awaits semi-final duels. Also in the semi-finals are Dečić, Mornar and Otrant-Olimpik.
"We're not rushing anything, we're taking it game by game. We're in the Cup semi-finals, we'll see what happens. I hope we finish the season successfully. I would be happiest if we won the Cup trophy. I think we've been playing great since the start of the season, we've beaten the best teams in the league."
Jezero finished fifth in the table two years ago and played in the Cup final, where they were defeated by Buducnost (2:1). Raičević hopes that this season will be more successful.
"We won't promise anything, but I hope it will be a more successful season than two years ago when we played in the Cup final in which we lost to Buducnost. We hope that this season, if we reach the final, we can make a breakthrough, for Jezero to win the trophy. We'll see what happens."
Harada's departure was not felt
Jezero did not bring in any reinforcements in the winter transfer window, and only Japanese player Hiroki Harada left.
"The same team remained, only Harada left us, who went to Kazakhstan. The other players are here, the younger players have been given more space - Uroš Bulatović and Imran Redžepagić. A position in the midfield has been freed up and they have more space. Harada's departure was not felt. We have had a great group of guys since the beginning of the season. The atmosphere is great, we are working well. We are improving in every way from game to game. I hope that will continue."
The next game is on Wednesday, Jezero in Berane welcomes Dečić (14).
"We have a tough game ahead of us. Dečić has a great team. They didn't start the second half as expected. They have two draws, a loss and a win. They always have tough games against them. This season we beat them in Berane, they beat us in Tuzi."
Raičević has been in Jezera for two seasons, arriving in the summer of 2024 from Mornar.
"I have no plans for the future. I am focused on this season. There is still a lot to play for. I hope to achieve some greater success with Jezero," concluded Milivoje Raičević.
