Arsenal benefited from perhaps the most modest game they played in 2026, as Manchester City clearly couldn't keep up with the leaders and only picked up a point against West Ham.
The Citizens played out a 1-1 draw, and the Gunners' triumph over Everton earlier today, which was 0-0 until the 89th minute, is now gaining importance...
Arsenal, however, pulled through, and City simply can't do it - so they lost two points in a match in which they took 25 shots on goal and created many great chances.
Pep Guardiola's team (he watched the match from the Olympic Stadium box due to suspension) was led from the 31st minute and Bernardo Silva's goal, and it turned out that the final score was already set in the 35th minute.
Then Kostadinos Mavropanos, former Arsenal centre-back, scored with a header after the break.
City had enough time and opportunities to get the victory they deserved, but West Ham's players defended as well as they could, led by goalkeeper Mads Hermansson.
This point could be very important for West Ham in their fight for survival, but it is hardly useful for City as they are now nine points behind Arsenal with a game in hand.
