Celta took advantage of Lyon's gift, Freiburg outclassed Genk, Forest went to penalties

The first pair of the Europa League quarterfinals has been announced - the German-Spanish duel will be watched.

Freiburg and Celta will meet, and Freiburg had a much easier path to the top eight, defeating Genk at home - 5:1.

The Belgians won the first leg 1-0, but had no chance in the second leg.

Ginter and Matanović gave the hosts an early 2:0 lead, the guests reduced it by halftime, and then Grifo, Suzuki and Egeštajn brought the German team a convincing triumph.

Celta traveled to Lyon after a 1:1 draw in Vigo, and in the second leg their job was made easier in the 19th minute when the "lions" were left without the sent-off Nijakate.

The Spanish team came into their own in the 61st minute when Rueda scored, and Žutgla made it 2:0 in the final minute.

The English Premier League also has at least one representative among the top eight, as Nottingham Forest made up for the deficit from the first match and defeated Midtjylland in Denmark - on penalties.

After 0:1 at the City Ground, it was now 2:1 for the "foresters" after the Midtjylland players missed all three penalties...
