The Nikšić police prevented a physical conflict between members of opposing fan groups at Šaka Petrović Square in Nikšić this evening at around 20:40 PM, the Police Directorate (UP) announced this evening.

The statement added that police officers are undertaking activities in the field to identify, locate and detain persons suspected of attempting to cause the incident tonight, for their prosecution.

"Officers of the Police Directorate will take all legally prescribed measures and actions in order to prevent the violation of public order and peace, causing similar incidents and riots between individuals or members of fan groups. We would like to remind you that a memorial tournament is planned for tomorrow at the City Stadium in Nikšić, starting at 18 p.m. - the first memorial called 'Andrija Delibašić', in which the football clubs 'Sutjeska' from Nikšić, 'Budućnost' from Podgorica and 'Partizan' from Belgrade will participate," the statement states.

The Police Department said that Nikšić police officers will, in accordance with the law, film this sporting event.

"The Police Directorate will promptly inform the public about all measures and actions taken in connection with the aforementioned event," the UP said.
