The beginnings were thorny, the defeats convincing, but perseverance and systematic work placed Montenegrin women's football in the B rank of the European scene.
His debut there, especially the first half in Wales, showed that he still has to learn. The same is true in the domestic club scene, which has been dominated by Breznica and Budućnost for years.
However, in other clubs, women's sections are becoming more numerous and the work is of higher quality. The difference in quality between Buducnost and Breznica on one side and the rest of the Women's Football League is still large.
- Matches against Buducnost and Beznica are a benchmark for us, and after each duel with them we question ourselves, we try to see how much we still lack in playing on an equal footing. However, considering the fact that my team, ŽFK Gorica, only has a few adult female footballers, I think it is still too early to think about equal competition. In any case, it is gratifying to feel that we are getting better, that every training session is a pleasure that we are happy to return to - the 16-year-old tells "Vijesti" Stasa Kovacevic.
Although a teenager, she is already in her second season playing senior football in the Women's Football League.
- Everything is different, more professional. Trainings at Backa Milića are innovative, different and a real pleasure, and the Football Association has assigned us a fitness coach Marko Bošković and everything really works great. Matches are something else, you have to give your all to respect your teammates, the coach's demands, and it's normal for our young team to have competition jitters. However, I believe that the increasing number of girls attending training and deciding to build a football career is a sign that the prejudices that this is primarily a male sport have been overcome - says Staša, who scored two goals and four assists in the second half of the season.
She started her football journey by training with the boys at Mladost Lob.bet.
- I remember there were only two of us girls at training. I switched to volleyball for a while, but I went back to my first love. Football is more than just a game in our family, my father Bosko also played, but also stayed in football as a sports worker. I grew up with action footage Maradona, Zidane, Ronaldinho..and games Leo the Messiah I've been following it since I can remember. And I know that my goal is to play in Italy one day, even though there are stronger clubs, and now there are leagues. I like the way of working and the lifestyle in that country.
But reaching the biggest club stage comes gradually, through work and progress, the offensive footballer from Gorica is aware of that.
- Of course, and above all, my goal is to force myself, through good games and goals, to be called up to the Montenegrin national team under 17, which already includes my teammate from the club, Anika PetrovicWe closely follow and learn by watching the games of our senior women, especially Armise Kuč, because I also play offensively, but I like it in some way Jelena Karličić covers and "breaks through" to the guard position. It's a shame that Sladjana Bulatović "Due to the injury, she was not fully prepared for her debut in the B Nations League, because we would have certainly had a better result. Although, she needs time to get used to playing against more experienced teams of a higher rank," concluded Kovačević.
