The last days of March brought a huge step forward in Andrej Kostić's career, much bigger than the one at the end of last summer when he left Buducnost for Partizan.
The Montenegrin striker is going to Milan, there is no longer any doubt about that, after he underwent medical examinations in the City of Fashion today and headed to Belgrade, where he will continue the season in a black and white jersey.
And then, in the summer, moving to the biggest stage.
The Rossoneri wanted Kostić in January, and Partizan was a tough negotiator at the time, but less than three months later they found themselves in a situation where they had no choice - they had to give up the striker and secure money in order to pass UEFA's monitoring and retain their license to compete in European competitions.
Because of all this, the transfer figure is probably lower than it really is - "Gazeta delo sport" reports that Milan will pay Partizan around three million euros, while information is coming from Belgrade that the compensation is around four million.
This is also important for Buducnost, which expects 15 percent from this sale after giving Kostić to the club from Humska for 900 thousand euros this summer.
"Gazeta" announced Kostić as a striker who is a guarantee for the future - and he is planned to become part of Milan's youth team in the summer.
"It could be very easy for him to make the leap and reach the first team," states the Milanese newspaper, which notes that Kostić is being compared to Dušan Vlahović and that he can play as both a first and second striker.
"Gazeta" points out at the end of the text:
"He has already made his debut for the national A team under Mirko Vučinić and if he lives up to expectations in Milan, his arrival will be a real "steal" on the market."
