The Ghana Football Association announced today that Otto Addo is no longer the national team's coach, just two and a half months before the start of the World Cup.
The Ghana Football Association only stated in a statement that it had terminated Ada's contract "with immediate effect", without giving reasons for the dismissal.
The dismissal follows Ghana's 2-1 defeat to Germany in Stuttgart yesterday. Ghana also lost 5-1 in Austria last month, making it four consecutive friendly defeats.
This was Ada's second term as Ghana coach. He also led the team at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where Ghana was eliminated in the group stage.
Ghana, who have reached the World Cup for the fifth time, will play in this year's World Cup in a group with Croatia, England and Panama. They will play their first match on June 17 against Panama in Toronto.
