Every day you should achieve small victories and boost your self-confidence, because that is the key to success both on the field and in life, said Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajić to football players from the Montenegrin cadet national team.
It hosted a great selection of "young falcons" who achieved historic success by qualifying for the European and World Championships.
"Your victorious aura illuminated the premises of the Government of Montenegro today and I hope that it will provide us with additional energy to repeat your success. You have earned your place in the European elite on green turf, and I believe that the Government and Parliament will see you off and bring Montenegro into the European Union," said Spajić.
He emphasized that the cadets showed quality, but that they did not finish the job.
"On the contrary, you have just begun your journey. With the dedication to the jersey with the national emblem that you have shown, we do not have to worry about the future of our football," added Spajić.
The reception was also attended by the President of the Football Association, Dejan Savićević.
"Prime Minister, thank you for this form of support, and we have noted that you follow the results of our athletes, because in the previous period you have also hosted many who have achieved notable results. This generation has achieved the greatest success in the history of Montenegrin football. They qualified for the European and World Championships, surpassing the previous generation, from which we already have Vasilije Adžić, Andrija Bulatović, Marko Perović and Andrej Kostić in the first team, as well as numerous talented players. They have a lot of work, effort and dedication ahead of them in order for them, as a talented generation, to reach the heights they deserve," said the legendary football player.
As announced by the Government, cadet captain Lazar Popović gave Spajić a jersey signed by all the national team members, coach Radovan Kavaja a ball signed by our players, and Savićević gave him a jersey with the number 28.
Both the European and World Championships will be held this year in Estonia and Qatar, respectively, and the number 28 symbolically represents the year when Montenegro is expected to join the European Union.
