Romanian national football team coach Mircea Lucescu is in serious health condition after suffering a "severe cardiac arrhythmia" and is in an induced coma, Romanian journalist Emanuel Rossu reported today.
According to reports, 80-year-old Lucescu was placed in an induced coma after his health deteriorated. He had previously suffered several heart attacks, and after a brief improvement, his condition deteriorated again.
According to the same information, his health condition is being monitored and he is under intensive medical supervision.
There is no official confirmation about the further course of treatment at this time.
Lucescu was admitted to hospital seven days ago after falling ill in training due to heart problems, three days after his team lost 1-0 to Turkey in the semi-finals of the World Cup play-offs.
