Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandes and his agent have apologised to the club following statements the midfielder made during international duty in Argentina.
Fernandes has stated in interviews in Argentina that he would like to live in Madrid, leaving open the possibility of a move to Real Madrid this summer.
Despite this, the London club says that there have been no talks about selling him, recalling that the Argentine has a valid contract until 2032.
Due to the controversial statements, Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior decided to leave Fernandes out of the team for two games, against Port Vale (7:0) and the upcoming duel against Manchester City.
Although Real Madrid is planning to bring in a midfielder during the summer, and Fernandes is among the "royal club's" wishes, his estimated value exceeds £100 million, while Chelsea currently have no intention of selling him.
An additional problem for the player is the fact that he is among those who want improved contract terms, and the latest statements could negatively affect his position in negotiations with the club.
