Slot: I feel the support of the fans, the club knows what period we are in

Liverpool manager Arne Slott said today he feels the support of the club and its fans despite the pressure of a poor run of results. Liverpool have lost their last three games, including a 2-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday night.

"I keep repeating, I've said on several occasions that I feel a lot of support. Not just from the owners, Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards, but as weird as it sounds, I feel the support of the fans. When we were in Paris, the fans were singing that they loved the club. It has to be said that they outplayed us, but we went to our fans after the game, they sang and applauded us. I feel that support constantly," Slot said, as reported by Sky.

"I think the club knows what period we are in. In the meantime, I feel full support," he added.

Liverpool are fifth in the Premier League with 49 points, a position that would earn them a place in next season's Champions League after English clubs were awarded an extra place. Liverpool have a point ahead of sixth-placed Chelsea, while Brentford and Everton are seventh and eighth on 46 points each.

He was asked whether the team could secure a top-five spot, despite not having won in the Premier League since February 28th.

"We played against the European champions and experienced something that night that was not at the level we want to be at. The good thing is that in four or five days we have another chance to show that we can be more competitive than we have been. But it also tells us that if we want to continue to progress, we have to continue to play at that level next season, which means qualifying for the Champions League," said Slot.

"When you experience that, you want to play there next season, to show that you can be better. We want that chance next season, so we have to achieve good results in the championship as well. That will be interesting. We had a recovery day yesterday. Not all of our players are capable of playing three days later in another intense game. We'll see what lineup we field," he added.

Liverpool will welcome Fulham on Saturday at 6:30 PM, in the 32nd round of the Premier League.
