Derby in the colors of Sutjeska and the victory the host has been waiting for since 2021, the great Mornar does not give up

A message from Sutjeska fans wishing them a happy Easter, but not wanting to be in the stands, many mistakes and desperate football marked the first half of the biggest Montenegrin derby. Everything went much better from the home side afterwards - the team from Nikšić scored two goals and defeated Buducnost 2:0 in the 29th round of the Meridianbet First Montenegrin Football League.

The victory came at an ideal moment for Sutjeska - to forget the defeat against Mornar in the previous round, maintain a plus four at the top of the table, but also to erase the dark tradition near Bistrica. The leader of the domestic championship has been waiting for a victory over its biggest rival on home soil since September 11, 2021.

Milorad Peković's team was somewhat more dangerous in the first half (through Marko Mrvaljević), and then they decided the match in eight minutes.

Milan Mijatović's first goal came in the 58th minute when Vasilije Čavor made the best of a corner kick, while the second goal was the best moment of the derby. Vasko Kalezić masterfully played a pass to Andrija Ražnatović, the former Buducnost defender crossed to the far post, and Ivan Vukčević scored.

More than enough for Sutjeska to get three more points, but not enough for Buducnost to threaten, let alone hope for Europe with this kind of play.

The holiday was marked by the biggest derby in Montenegrin football, but important matters were also being resolved in Tivat, where second-placed Mornar once again showed how serious they are.

Barani also defeated Arsenal (1:0), recorded their sixth consecutive triumph in the championship and continued to threaten the leader from Nikšić. The goal for another big three points for Vesko Stešević's team was scored by Demir Škrijelj after an hour of play and after a great pass from Balša Sekulić.

The move of the game in Tivat was made by Jovan Dašić, who lobbed a shot past home goalkeeper Bojan Zogović from more than 45 meters, but his attempt was stopped by the crossbar.

Bokelj achieved an extremely important victory in the fight for survival, defeating Mladost away with a goal by Zarija Mugoša (the ball may have been deflected by Davor Kontić).

The points were shared between Jezero and Petrovac - the team from Plav led with a goal by Petar Bogdanović in the 44th minute, and the final score was set by Adnan Bašić in the 63rd minute.

Third-placed Dečić didn't have many problems against the "lanjeras" team from Jedinstvo. Led by two-time scorer Trimror Seljimi, the team from Tuzi won 4:2 at home.

Regardless of the defeat, the match was once again marked by the guests' striker Žarko Korać - the best scorer in the history of our league, scoring two new goals.
