Paris Saint-Germain advanced to the semi-finals of the Champions League after defeating Liverpool 2-0 in the second leg last night.
PSG won the first leg 2-0, and in the semi-finals they will play the winner of tonight's match between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. The Bavarians won the first leg in Madrid 2-1.
"I'm very proud of my team: we controlled the game in the first half, playing in the opponent's half, which is not easy in this stadium. The second half was difficult, but we did what you have to do when you don't have the ball. They took a lot of risks, and we knew we would have opportunities on the counterattack to score. Overall, we deserved to go through," said PSG coach Luis Enrique after the match.
Enrique says his team could have scored more than two goals.
"We played great against a top team like Liverpool. We were patient and showed how good our fans are. We're really happy that we were able to show all that."
The current European champion awaits his rival in the semifinals.
"Real or Bayern? Every time I want one rival, we have to play against the other. That's why tonight in Paris I will relax and watch the game from Munich while drinking a good, cold beer," concluded Enrique.
