For the last three years, the story has been the same - as the summer transfer window approached, there was speculation about where Bernardo Silva could continue his career.
The story was mostly about Barcelona, but as usual it ended with the Portuguese staying at Manchester City.
Now that is changing, as Bernardo has announced that he will leave the Etihad at the end of the season. The decision is final, as his contract expires in June.
"When I arrived nine years ago, I followed a boy's dream of succeeding in life, of achieving great things. This city and this club have given me so much more than that, so much more than I ever hoped for. What we have achieved together is a legacy that will forever be in my heart. Four consecutive titles, a treble and so much more... It wasn't that bad," Silva said in a letter to fans.
Silva won 15 trophies with City - including six Premier League titles and the Champions League trophy.
"To the club, to Pep Guardiola, to all my teammates over these nine years - thank you for all the memories and for allowing me to be part of this journey for so long. The atmosphere we created every day in training made me feel at home and part of a big family. Let's enjoy these last weeks together and fight for what this season still brings us," Silva said.
Silva joined City from Monaco in 2017. He played 451 games, scored 76 goals and had 77 assists.
In recent weeks, there has been talk that Juventus wants Silva.
