Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta has said that Arsenal will not play to a draw in the derby against Manchester City, which could have a key impact on the Premier League title race, British media reported today.
Arsenal enter the match with a six-point lead and a game in hand over the reigning champions, but also with fluctuating form after three defeats in their last five games in all competitions.
"We want to win the game. We're not thinking about a draw. We're preparing to win," Arteta said, as reported by Sky Sport.
The Spanish expert emphasized that his team approaches every match the same way, regardless of the opponent or the importance of the match.
"It's no different than any other stadium. We're getting ready to win," he added.
Arteta did not want to accept the narrative that the duel at the Etihad Stadium could decide the championship race.
"I'm not going to talk about a draw for a second. We prepare every game to win," the Arsenal coach reiterated.
The duel in Manchester will be played on Sunday at 5:30 PM and is considered one of the key ones in the finale of the season.
