Almost two and a half million euros in financial injections from the capital, a new coach, sports director and as many as 11 "reinforcements" in the mid-season, and what follows is a fight for survival.
Buducnost players fear a relegation play-off after their 14th defeat this season, in 32 rounds.
For the first time in independent Montenegro, the Podgorica team has more defeats than wins (12) or draws (six), but they had them before today's match - and against Mladost Lob.bet, their only city rival, they have experienced as many as three of them, in four matches.
With four rounds remaining, the current champion is four points behind Petrovac, who is in the provisional European zone, but only three more than Mladost, who they lost to today - Božović's team is therefore closer to the survival play-off zone than to the European zone, which was characterized as the "least acceptable goal" last winter.
Given how Buducnost is playing, bearing in mind that it has only won a point in its last four matches, and that it has not scored a single goal in that period (360 minutes), its few fans (those who are now coming to the stadium are counted in the dozens) have every reason to be afraid.
The fight for survival is currently more real than the fight for Europe.
What is even more worrying for the team from Podgorica is that they are currently in arguably the worst form of all the rivals who are flirting with the play-off zone.
While they, with 42 points, have won just one of their last four matches, Arsenal (also 42) have taken seven in the same period, Jezero (40) have won six, and Mladost (39) have won three.
By the end of the season, Buducnost will be visiting Jedinstvo, who are desperately fighting to avoid last place and direct relegation, then they will welcome Mornar, who are in the fight for the title, then Bokelj, who are also fighting for survival, and then they will be visiting Petrovac, who are, theoretically, rivals in the fight for Europe.
Of all the direct rivals to avoid the play-offs, Buducnost only has a better head-to-head record than Jezera. They are weaker than Arsenal and Mladost, who have beaten them three times each.
The only advantage the team from Podgorica currently has is points (three more than Mladost, two than Jezera), but based on what they look like on the field, anything is possible until the end.
These are all bare facts and statistics - a reflection of the failings of a club that, among other things, was pumped over two million euros of taxpayers' money last winter, and which few people watch.
Even the club leaders - those who wonder about everything - don't watch it.
Just as devastating as the game on the field (after 11 "reinforcements", of which only three were starters, and two more came off the bench) was the picture from the ceremonial box, where the president of the Assembly, club legend Vojislav Vukčević, was once again the only representative of Budućnost.
The visiting team's side of the box, Mladost, was full.
If the members of the Board of Directors don't want to come so they don't have to listen to insults from the stands - at least they wouldn't have that problem today, because there were only about 20 fans in the north.
These people have changed four coaches and three sports directors since the beginning of the season, and brought in Nenad Maslovar, who signed the famous 11 new players during the winter.
They recently "blamed" the executive director for all their failures, dismissing Predrag Kažić because, apparently, he did not follow all their orders.
They formed their own Board of Directors within the Board of Directors, created a majority and are making decisions against the will and position of the President of the Board of Directors, Boris Spalević.
They are the ones most responsible for Buducnost sinking to the bottom. Or is this not the bottom yet, can it go even deeper?
When we talk about Spalević, who is not at the stadium, who is no longer even on the Board of Directors he chairs, the real question is - what else is he doing at the club?
