Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique said that his team showed an "incredible level" of play in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich and that, with the maturity and character they showed, they managed to reach the final of the competition.
"It's incredible. I think what we showed tonight, and throughout the season, especially in the Champions League, is at an incredible level. We played against one of the best teams in the world, away from home, and we did it with the maturity and character that is needed. It shows what kind of team we are. Tonight, with almost 4.000 fans who traveled, we suffered together, because there are always moments when it is difficult. But we are happy. We showed that we like to have possession of the ball, but that when we have to defend, we also know how to do it," Enrique said, as reported by the club's website.
Paris Saint-Germain, the current European club champions, have once again qualified for the Champions League final after drawing 1-1 with Bayern Munich in the second leg of their semi-final on Wednesday. The French club won the first leg in Paris 5-4 and advanced to the semi-final tie 6-5 on aggregate.
"Now it's time to enjoy this moment with all the Parisians and look forward to another Champions League final. It's been three years since I arrived in Paris and we've always felt this connection between the fans and the team. It's extremely important because when you're able to share this with the fans and enjoy playing for Paris Saint-Germain so much, it's simply incredible. We have to keep working because there's one more game left to win the Champions League," Enrique added.
Paris Saint-Germain will play against Arsenal in the Champions League final, which is scheduled for May 30th in Budapest.
