Stevan Jovetić has put an end to another chapter in his career, the ninth club he has played for - the captain of Montenegro said goodbye to Omonia with an emotional message. All after winning the title in Cyprus with the club from Nicosia.
Our legendary football player announced that the match against AEK Larnaca will be his last in the green and white jersey.
"When I signed for Omonia, I promised to give my maximum for this club and I leave with my head held high, with the trophy won. Thank you to my brothers in the locker room for all the battles, smiles and memories. Thank you to the coaches for the trust, and to the fans because they are the heart of this club," Jovetić wrote on Instagram.
The farewell with the Cypriots came after two years.
"My story with Omonia is over. See you on Sunday at the last game, to lift the cup together," said the captain of the "Falcon".
It is not yet known where Jovetić could continue his career, but Serbian media are writing that it should be Partizan - the club whose colors the guy from Podgorica defended at the beginning of his career, where he arrived from OFK Titograd as a very young player.
Apart from Paris Saint-Germain and Omini, he also played for major European clubs such as Fiorentina, Manchester City, Inter, Sevilla, Monaco, Hertha and Olympiacos. In addition to the Cypriot title, he was also champion in Serbia and England, and with the team from Piraeus he won the Conference League.
He is saying goodbye to Omonia after 65 games during which he scored 17 goals and recorded 16 assists.
At the age of 37, it's time for a new challenge, and wherever he continues his career, it will be important for the Montenegrin national team, because Jovetić is still an important part of the "falcons".
